After successful completed various courses on Social Development work, I have been given job opportunities in various capacities on matters of peacebuilding and conflicts resolution both local and international in Africa.

1.Kenya African Democratic Development Union (KADDU)

(Civic Education and Transformation)

First assignment: I got job opportunity in the Union of Political Parties in Kenya (Kenya African Democratic Development Union) as a national co-ordinator.

Through my strategic leadership, community-centered programming, and governance expertise, I strengthened KADDU’s capacity to deliver sustainable development and democratic engagement initiatives across vulnerable communities in Kenya. By integrating peacebuilding, civic education, women and youth empowerment, and policy advocacy, I enhanced stakeholder collaboration between grassroots actors, government institutions, and development partners.

My approach combined evidence-based programming, community dialogue frameworks, and inclusive participation models, resulting in improved civic awareness, strengthened local leadership structures, and increased community ownership of development initiatives. The projects I supported under KADDU advanced conflict prevention, enhanced democratic participation, and promoted socio-economic resilience among marginalized groups.

Through structured monitoring, partnerships, and strategic communication, KADDU initiatives under my contribution achieved measurable community impact, improved accountability mechanisms, and expanded networks for long-term sustainability.

I was appointed on a 3 years contract as Inter-communal Peace Initiatives Co-rdinator, National.

Statement of the problem

After the 2007general election, the violence led to death of over 1,333, over 663,921 were displaced many people were left destitute, without food, shelter, clothing, medicine etc.

The main duties and objectives of my services was to:-

  • To restore peace, security and harmony among the different committees affected by conflict.
  • To provide shelter for victims of post-election violence and promote peace and reconciliation.
  • To promote peace, co-existence and tolerance amongst communities.
  • To promote understanding and cohesion amongst communities.
  • To repair, restore and strengthen relationships amongst communities
  • To consolidate peace so far achieved.

Through my peacebuilding, mediation, and community transformation initiatives, my duties and service objectives directly supported national stabilization and social cohesion efforts in the following ways:

1. Dialogue Facilitation & Community Mediation
  • Designed and facilitated structured community dialogues in conflict-affected regions.
  • Bridged communication gaps between local communities, youth groups, women leaders, and security stakeholders.
  • Helped reduce tensions through inclusive engagement frameworks aligned with national reconciliation strategies.

Impact: Strengthened grassroots trust-building mechanisms that complemented government-led reconciliation processes.

I was appointed by the African Union’s (AU) Panel of Eminent African Personalities

Following the political violence that engulfed Kenya after the disputed December 2007 General Election, international mediation by the African Union’s (AU) Panel of Eminent African Personalities, comprising

  • Late Former UN Secretary General Koffi Annan – Chair
  • Late Former Tanzanian President Benjamin Mkapa
  • Graca Machel

brought the two parties the Government – Party of National Unity (PNU) and the Opposition – Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) into the Kenya National Dialogue and Reconciliation (KNDR) forum for Dialogue and Mediation. The overall goal of the KNDR process was to achieve sustainable peace, stability and justice in Kenya through the rule of law and respect for human rights.

My appointment to the Kenya National Dialogue and Reconciliation process was grounded in my demonstrated leadership in peacebuilding, community mediation, and inclusive conflict resolution across diverse communities in Kenya. Through my work highlighted in part of my activities and programs on my website, I have consistently championed grassroots dialogue, women and youth participation in peace processes, and sustainable reconciliation initiatives. My proven ability to convene stakeholders, facilitate constructive conversations in fragile contexts, and translate community concerns into actionable policy recommendations positioned me as a credible, results-driven peace practitioner. My track record in implementing impactful peace projects, publishing thought-leadership work, and mentoring emerging leaders further affirmed my suitability to contribute meaningfully to national dialogue and reconciliation efforts.

In my role supporting Agenda 2 of the Kenya National Dialogue and Reconciliation (KNDR) process under the mediation of the African Union Panel of Eminent African Personalities, I contributed to strengthening dialogue structures, technical coordination, and stakeholder engagement mechanisms that advanced sustainable peace. Through strategic advisory support, structured dialogue facilitation, and multi-stakeholder coordination, I helped bridge communication gaps between political actors, civil society, and affected communities.

My work focused on ensuring that mediation processes were inclusive, evidence-informed, and solution-oriented—particularly on constitutional, institutional, and governance reform priorities under Agenda 2. By providing consultancy services in conflict analysis, dialogue design, and implementation tracking, I supported the alignment of mediation outcomes with long-term reform frameworks.

Through effective coordination and policy advisory contributions, I enhanced trust-building, accountability mechanisms, and consensus-driven negotiations, thereby strengthening the credibility and effectiveness of the AU-led mediation process and contributing to the stabilization and reconciliation efforts in Kenya.

  • identified potential security challenges facing the various integration aspects.
  • Shared perspectives on modalities for deeper engagements of citizenry in regional security.
  • Identified institutional and legal obstacles of cooperation in peace and security sector and made appropriate recommendations.
  • Established the symbiotic relationship between security and governance, natural resources management and economic development.
  • Identified areas of cooperation that will enhance complementarily among the various security providers at EAC level as with other sub-regional organizations

  • Made proposals for collective and concerted approaches towards emerging security challenges that include globalization climate change, geospatial security and cyber security among others.

The Inter-Burundian Dialogue was a critical platform established to address the longstanding political, social, and security tensions in Burundi, facilitating inclusive engagement among political parties, civil society, and other stakeholders. My appointment placed me at the core of technical advisory operations, providing analytical guidance, strategic consultations, and practical solutions to support the facilitation process.
